swiss regional banks forge new association. switzerland is home to yet another banking association, the latest encompassing some 58 regional institutions. its goal is a differentiated banking regulation. the association of swiss regional banks was formally founded at a meeting in bern, which was addressed by swiss finance minister ueli maurer and thomas jordan, the head of the swiss national bank. the association aims to coordinate the various regional interest of its members. the goal is to speak with one voice on a wide range of issues that concern regional banks, and especially on differentiated regulation to take account of the variety of business models in the banking industry. no competitor to existing bodies. despite previous disputes and differences of opinion, the association wants to work with the wider swiss bankers association and also on the coordination of domestic banks. it does not see itself as a rival to the established bank organizations. the head of the 58-member banking associaiton is juerg gutzwiller, ceo of entris. marianne wildi, ceo of hypothekarbank lenzburg, is the deputy and juerg de spindler will manage the business.

The Association of Swiss Regional Banks was formally founded at a meeting in Bern, which was addressed by Swiss Finance Minister Ueli Maurer and Thomas Jordan, the head of the Swiss National Bank.
The association aims to coordinate the various regional interest of its members. The goal is to speak with one voice on a wide range of issues that concern regional banks, and especially on differentiated regulation to take account of the variety of business models in the banking industry.
No Competitor to Existing Bodies
Despite previous disputes and differences of opinion, the association wants to work with the wider Swiss Bankers Association and also on the coordination of domestic banks. It does not see itself as a rival to the established bank organizations.
The head of the 58-member banking associaiton is Juerg Gutzwiller, CEO of Entris. Marianne Wildi, CEO of Hypothekarbank Lenzburg, is the deputy and Juerg de Spindler will manage the business.
