Lombard Odier Investment Managers (LOIM) has appointed Philippe Descheemaeker as its new head of private assets distribution.

He joined the firm in Geneva this month and reports to Bettina Ducat, the co-head of LOIM.

LOIM told finews.com that the new executive will be instrumental in propelling LOIM’s strategic growth plan in private assets. Descheemaeker has significant experience leading international teams, establishing distribution strategies, and achieving substantial fundraising milestones.

Focus on Executing Distribution Strategies

Descheemaeker has over 20 years of experience in asset management with a focus on executing distribution strategies for the Lombard Odier Group.

Descheemaeker spent the previous 12 years as the managing director and head of distribution of the high-yield fixed-income manager, SKY Harbor Capital Management, in Frankfurt. At SKY Harbor, he was responsible for driving business development globally and managing the strategy for engaging clients, prospects, and consultants across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

In a former capacity, he worked for AXA Investment Managers for 12 years in Paris, in roles including global head of fixed income product specialists and fixed income portfolio manager.

Entrepreneurial Drive

The move comes shortly after the London-based green investment specialist Impax Asset Management completed its acquisition of the European assets of Sky Harbor Capital Management for an undisclosed sum.

Commenting on the appointment, Ducat stated, «Philippe has strong technical knowledge of investment, gained from his experience as a portfolio manager, and the entrepreneurial drive essential for growing the distribution capabilities of an independent, specialized firm. This combination of expertise will be instrumental in further advancing our value proposition in private assets to investors across regions.»
