UBS Launches Platform for Volunteer Work

Swiss bank UBS has launched a matchmaking platform for volunteer work. It will help charitable projects find the help they need to succeed.

UBS and a number of Swiss charitable foundations on Thursday are going public with the launch of Helpetica, a platform that matches volunteers with charitable projects.

Helpetica is an online platform where volunteers can choose from a range of sustainable projects. The platform doesn’t however allow the generation of funds for the projects, according to the statement released by the bank.

Four Categories of Projects

The organization seeking help can choose from four categories – environment, social, educational and entrepreneurial. And the interested volunteers in turn can get in touch with the suitable project directly on Helpetica.

Private citizens can launch their own projects for volunteer work on the platform. UBS is vetting such ideas with the help of experts for their use and effect on the common good before allowing to go life on the platform.

Part of a Wider Push

The bank is pushing the concept of platform economies under the guidance of Martha Moeckenfeld. So far, it pushed commercial applications including mortgage-platform Atrium and Key4. UBS expanded the digital business together with insurtech Iptiq and stake in real estate-startup Houzy.
